A Slytherin Aries is a bundle of contradictions. In some ways, they have the potential to be the strongest of their House - the intensity, drive, and brilliant visionary dreams of the Aries combined with the innate leadership skills, the charisma, and the profound sense of self (including the eccentric lack of interest in conforming to what other people think) is stuff of which great magical legends are made. Physical
Bellatrix is a tall woman with thick, dark hair, and dark, heavily hooded eyes. She is slender, and moves with deadly intent, not precisely graceful, but never clumsy. She retains the vestiges of great beauty, though these attributes were dimmed considerably by Azkaban. Recuperation, however, is allowing her to regain some of that former famed glory. She has always moved quickly and forcefully, her determination coming forth in her physical demeanour. Perhaps most impressive about her physicality is her speed when under pressure; an extremely talented duelist, Bellatrix is capable of moving and reacting with almost incredible speed, as shown by her direct blocking of Albus Dumbledore's attempt to impede her in the Battle at the Department of Mysteries. She can also be quite sensual when she puts her mind to it, though this quality was more evident when she was much younger than it is now after Azkaban.

Personality
Bella is an arrogant, self-absorbed, bitch of a sadist. She believes herself superior to nearly everyone in the world (with the Dark Lord a notable and rare exception) and firmly intends to make sure everyone else acknowledges this fact. She was a spoiled and egocentric teenager, but grew into a warped and truly evil adult. Somewhere along the line she got it into her mind that she drew power from inflicting pain on others (a notion put into her head by the Dark Lord), and so she quickly developed a taste and particular talent for the art of sadism. Bellatrix is possessed of a fierce sense of loyalty towards the Dark Lord, a sense of vengeance against those responsible for his downfall, a temper quick and sharp as a whip, and a cruel streak as wide as the English Channel. She likes to think of herself as part of the Dark Lord's inner circle, and looks down on many other of the Death Eaters as mindless drones. The only person she really fears and will readily submit to is the Dark Lord. Everyone else she either disdains or will at least butt heads with before acquiescing. She is desperate to be in the Dark Lord's good graces, and the only insecurity she ever feels is when she fears she's failed to please him.

Bellatrix's respect is hard to win, as she believes herself so naturally superior to those around her. Her husband Rodolphus managed to win some manner of esteem; their marriage was not a love-match, but was extremely well-made. Both sadists, both with the same ideals, they suited each other well, and share affection and passion for each other. Bellatrix's other close relationship is with her sister Narcissa. Bella has always felt protective of her, no matter how she may disdain her in public, and Narcissa is one of the few people Bellatrix would actively fight to protect. With no children of her own, Bellatrix has chosen to mentor Draco Malfoy, teaching him what she can, proud of his following the proper path.

Bellatrix is not, as some would deem her, insane. She's a sadist, but they're not the same thing. Highly intelligent and fully convinced that what she's doing is in every way right, Bellatrix is nearly entirely in possession of her right senses. Azkaban did not break her; she was too strong for it, too completely and utterly convinced that her Lord would return and rescue her someday -- and she was, of course, proved right. Rather, imprisonment tipped her just enough over the edge to rid her of any last vestiges of self-control. Impetuous and nearly fearless, Bellatrix often acts without thinking and lets her temper get the better of her. She is a woman both proud and passionate, utterly unwilling to dwell overlong on any subject that distresses her. Her sibling's and cousin's betrayals, her lack of children, her time in Azkaban, any difference of opinion between herself and the Dark Lord -- she refuses to think on them or to discuss them, and quite hard-headedly refuses ever to admit that she could be in the wrong (unless, of course, the argument is with her Lord).
